The week of March 7-11 was designated as Mission Week for elementary students. Students’ attention was focused on the importance of missions and the work being done by various mission organizations to bring the Gospel and attempt to alleviate the hardship and deprivation experienced by so many in former Soviet bloc countries and elsewhere. Our mission theme, Send the Light…Meeting the Needs, was emphasized throughout the week in classroom devotions, singing, Bible lessons, and assemblies. Student donations for the missions
were collected through book orders, a bake sale, a hot dog fundraiser, and classroom donations. Mr. Gilbert DeBrine presented a slide show regarding his recent trip to Israel. Mrs. Marieke Ude described her mission experiences in Nigeria. Students from each classroom presented information about a number of local and international mission organizations, including NRC and HNRC mission outreaches, Mel Trotter Mission, Come Over and Help, Bonisa, and Voice of the Martyrs. Students, we sincerely appreciate your efforts to raise funds
in support of these mission organizations. May the Lord bless the work of our missions all over the world.
